About Us
The Donner Summit Public Utility District is located in Soda Springs, California, and provides sewer collection and treatment and water treatment and distribution to its customers. The District is governed by a five-member board of directors. District staff includes a general manager, office manager and an administrative assistant. The sewer and water department staff includes a chief plant manager and four licensed operators.
Our Services
The water treatment plant is located just north of Donner Ski Ranch on Donner Summit, at approximately 7,200 feet elevation with no development above the watershed area.The wastewater treatment plant and district office are located on Sherritt Lane, immediately north of Interstate 80 off Donner Summit Road in Soda Springs. The waste water treatment plant is at approximately 6,800 feet with average winter temperatures of 34 degrees Fahrenheit.
